We visited the old capital of Inwa, about 1 hr from Mandalay, by taxi and boat. You need to take a horse cart around the ruins scattered around a farming community.

This teakwood temple is the highlight of the visit to Inwa - well at least for me. Unfortunately way too dark inside to take good photos of the stunning wood carving details. Very tranquil and timeless here.
