200 Things You Didn't Know About Thailand
I thought it would be interesting if we could collectively compile a list of unknown or obscure facts about Thailand. Even new members could join in with this project. Number them so that it caries on from the post before. It would also help to make your little known fact bold. Please keep them brief.
1. The Thai greeting "sawatdee" was invented during the Second World War. Before that, people greeted each other by asking if they had eaten yet.

Yes, you are right Khun Don. Paul, it is not a good idea to write H.M. The King's name in red ink! I have changed it for you. I am sure you didn't mean any harm to him. Oh, that is another one!
3. You should only write the name of people in red ink if they are dead, or you wish them to be dead.

Hehe. It's proof of my fear that if I post something people don't respond, but if someone else posts the same thing people respond. My girlfriend says I'm just paranoid. Hah!
