To post a question in the forums or to reply to someone else, you must be a registered member and also logged in. It is free to sign up and shouldn't take you long. It is true that you can browse our large archives without being a member, however, there are some forums you won't be able to visit. Nor will you be able to download any of the hundreds of free files that we post for people learning Thai.
How to become a member:
(1) Click here to
register
(2) After you have filled in the form, you should receive an automatic email to confirm your email address. So, please make sure that you enter your email address correctly. We don't spam people with hundreds of emails so don't worry. If for some reason you didn't receive this confirmation email, then please contact us. However, check your junk folder first. Don't forget to tell us your username!
(3) Once you are registered and you have confirmed your email, you can now post questions by following these instructions below.
How to post a question:
(1) Log into the forum
Type in your username and password at the top of the forum page. If it is your own computer, then it is best to click "remember me" so that you are always logged in. Sometimes we have a competition that only logged in members can see.
Once you are logged in, the menu links change. Click on "New Posts" in the top menu bar to see all the new posts and pictures since your last visit.
(2) Browsing forums
The front page for all the forums is
www.ThailandQA.com/forum. If you want to bookmark us, then it is best to use
www.ThailandQA.com as this page has all the latest information. There are links at the top of each page for the Paknam Web Forums main page where you can see the list of all forums. You can also click the "Paknam Web Forums" banner at the top.
This is a screenshot just showing the forums towards the top of the page. We have forums for many different subjects. Just choose the one you think fits best to your question. Let's say you want to post a question about a holiday you want to do in Thailand. So, click on the "Thailand Guidebook" forum link.
(3) Posting a question
Once you are inside that forum, you will see a list of questions already posted by other people. You may find that your question has already been answered. Make sure you try the search link at the top of the page first. If you need to post a new question, then click on the "New Thread" button you can see at the top and bottom of every forum page.
Make sure you type a good title in the form. Don't just say "help!" like some people do. If the title looks interesting, more people will click on it to help answer your question. When finished, click on "submit thread".
People are on the forums 24/7 so hopefully you will get a quick answer. If you need to post a follow up question, then click on "post reply" which you will see on the same page as your original question. Please don't just do a "hit and run". If someone helps you, then please make sure you post a "thank you". Also, we like it when people come back from their holiday and they post their experiences. This then helps other people, like yourself, to plan their holidays. Maybe you could even hang around to help answer questions posted by other people. That is how many of our regular contributors started.
If you have any more questions, then please click "post reply" or use the "quick reply" form at the bottom. By clicking on "post reply" you get more options like attaching photos etc.
We will be releasing a series of "How to do" videos soon which will help you more.
